Watch: Taking our Tours and Experiences Digital

In April 2022, Plymouth Sound will launch the first Smart Sound Connect 5G network and we want to equip our electric heritage vessel, Bounty’s End with the capability to broadcast live video 360 degrees and through virtual reality (VR) headsets in Schools.

We now want to take our live experiences and transform our Bounty Centre into a visitor destination where people can explore the history and heritage of Plymouth Sound National Marine Park fusing digital technologies, extended reality (XR) augmented learning and real life exploration.

We see huge opportunity to blend the physical “onboard” experiences, sailing Bounty’s End to places within Plymouth Sound with extended reality capability to help transform the experience and learning opportunities.

Our mission over the next 5 years is to take people on journeys to explore the rich 200 year history of innovation and exploration through the eyes of Cook, Darwin, Bligh and Fitzroy as we look forward to how the National Marine Park will shape Plymouth’s future in the next 100 years.

So we are looking to raise an initial £3000.00 to cover the costs of the equipment needed to bring our Bounty Experiences to a digital audience. This includes 5G ready modems for onboard and on land, a selection of 4K cameras that can shoot 360 degrees, hard drives for data storage, media cards, Oculus Quest 2 headsets and rechargeable power-packs.

If we stretch our initial target then we will use the extra money to start filming content and developing our online platforms.

Please take a look at our Rewards and grab yourself a bargain. Every pledge you make will go a long way to helping us achieve our target.
